I heard Alex doing his little ‘cat bark’ the other day and at first I kind of ignored it. After a few minutes of it he came and sat next to me and just stared up at me with this ‘excuse me’ look on his furry little face. I patted him on the head and went back to what I was doing (most likely surfin’ the interwebs). A few minutes later, I caught him just outside my peripherals still staring and noticed he had not moved. As soon as I stood up to see what he wanted his eyes got big and he started walking to the living room while watching me to see if I follow. As soon as I entered the dining room I stopped after noticing the fat bird perched on the deck.

After I snapped a couple pics, I let Alex out to investigate. As soon as I opened the door the huge bird kind of rolled off the ledge and seemed to barely gain enough lift to fly away. Alex didn’t mind though, there were plenty of other birds to bark at.

I managed to catch about 5 hours of sleep between going to bed at 9:40 AM and the Peredo gang arriving at 2:30 PM. Last night was a lot more productive than my usual ‘all nighter’. I think it was a mix between the coffee and the dance rock I had blasting on my Muxtape. I’m pleased to have my Twitter and Flickr accounts integrated into the sidebar. Now I must embark on an epic journey to retro-fit all of my previous photo posts to be tied to Flickr. Yuck to that.

Once I was up and out of bed I felt surprisingly refreshed. After an expedited shower and all the necessary wash-up rituals, we grabbed some lunch on base and took the kids to a few of the playgrounds. The weather was too perfect to not be outside and I’m glad I got to enjoy it. My only complaint is that I didn’t find a swing set. I think I was too busy behind the lens to realize I missed out on it. Oh well, I’m sure today’s weather was no fluke and I have many more days like this to come. It’s nice having family so close. I’m definitely enjoying the frequent company. Enjoy the photos!
