So its been almost a month since I made any attempt at posting anything, but it is definitely not from lacking anything to post. My idle time has been close to nothing for the past few weeks which has been good. I took today off to square away my moving situation, which is looking quite nice, and I hope to get some backdated posts up by the end of the week. There are a good amount of pictures to upload, so the sooner I fire up Lightroom, the better.
The Independence Day celebration at Fight Club was complete mayhem.
Sitcky Rice Karaoke: Round 2 went down last Tuesday. The Super Karaoke Krew returned sans Dakota, but we were able to add Lauren to the lineup. I feel we had a solid run and cleaned house once again. Gary and Denise even upped their game and did a duet to a song I’m not even going to try and remember.

Nouveau Riche hosted Blisspop at MCCXXIII featuring Australia’s Miami Horror and Gameboy/Gamegirl. The DJs were great, but the atmostphere resembled the more traditional DC club scene, which to me is a bad thing. I’m all for meeting new poeple, but I just couldn’t seem to get over the elevated levels of douche-baggery going on in there. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t just me. Was it?

Since I missed Ladytron the day before, I was being a real jerk to Dakota about making it in time to catch them at the Merriweather. I’m glad to say we made it with plenty of time to spare. The lineup was Ladyton, TV on the Radio, then Thievery Corporation. All of the performances were awesome, and since this was a homecoming for Thievery, the crowd was extra rowdy.
